Default Rocker Panel Plastic Protector

I now own a 2006 Mustang convertible and I have a question concerning the plastic rocker panel that extends from the front wheels to the rear wheels. I don't like the look of it and I was wondering if I could remove it and how would I remove it. Would that be a good idea?

Look underneath, it's just held on by plastic push thru clips I believe. I think it would be a mistake to not have them. Some here have swappped out theirs for body color versions taken off GT's. I like the black.

If you want to switch it with the GT, go ahead, but I like the black much better. I've seen pictures of cars with it off and it looks like crap. A real bad idea.
