I currently have a shaker 500 system, and i was looking into adding a 12 inch sub, any advice? and how hard are these to install?

You can get a box or build one to fit into the left or right (I prefer right) side of the truck, just like with the Shaker 1000 package. Wiring this car is easy too...everything is easy to get through.

What do u have to wire? do I have to go back from the head unit? or can i split wires somewhere else? Also, with a 300 watt sub, would i need an additional amp?

I heard because of the way the new premium sound systems are, everything is hard wired. If you want to change anything, chances are you have to change/rewire everything. And you can't do anything with the factory amp if you change anything, it's not reusable. Chances are if you get another sub, you'd definitely need another amp because our stock amps cut out at high volumes, so you obviously couldn't power another sub.

What I did with mine was I used a line out converter and taped in to the rear deck speakers. That converts it into a rca output and goes into the Fosgate amp. I still have the original Shaker 500 deck, just kinda like it. This set up might not be the most effecent and wond win any compititions but it works. The converter was like 25 bucks and saved me hours of wireing headaches.
