Tabs under console lid

Does anyone know why there are two tabs under the lid of the center console?
There is a depression and two tabs. It looks like something should fit beneath the tabs.
Any ideas?

It's a tissue holder. I think it's "Kleenex" that makes a small package of tissues that fit in there perfectly. It's for the days you're out driving and you hear a rock smack your hood, or when you just spent 3 hours detailing your beauty and it starts raining.

If you detailed her well enough rain wouldn't hurt.

I always use that thing to hold my phone when I'm charging it..

It's actually supposed to be for an Mp3 player, hence the aux input & power supply in the console

ALthough it holds my IPod perfectly, my 05 has one and it doex NOT have an aux input. All my Fords have had them, they are definately for Kleenex.

why would u put an ipod in that post considering to change songs and stuff u would have 2 open it anyway while driving? the perfect spot for an ipod is between teh cup holders laying in between them. sticking out laying on the 2 cup openings, lol

Kleenex holder to wipe away the tearswhen you get rock chips in the hood. I guess thats cheaper for Ford than to put quality paint job on the car LOL.
