Default MRT exhaust

so i called up one of the local muffler shops to see how much it would cost to have the MRT aeroturbine exhaust put on my car with a custom set of pipes from the cats back.

the tech said it doesn't breathe as easy as flowmasters...i would have figured the MRT would flow better with the design...any body know?
he's suggesting flowmasters because it will be better but i prefer the sound of the MRT...any ideas?

The tech doesn't know what he's talking about -- the Aeroturbine has consistently out-dyno'd every other axleback on the market.

And the muffler install shouldn't be much -- I just installed my Aeroturbine in about half an hour, with a friend, two tiny box wrenches, some dish soap for sliding the hangers, and some muscle. And a lot of beer and swearing. Biggest problem was breaking the old muffler clamp loose!

Big performance boost, and thing screams like a banshee at high revs.

+1...For single the MRT kicks butt. My friends on herewith GTs all like it. Get a tune and intake and she sounds even better.

i've already talked to scrming...he said he loved the aeroturbine and the reason he took it off is because he doesnt have cats. i'm in cali and i have to have cats. so i think i'm good.

aight cool thanks guys! i was planning on going with the MRT but was throw back when the tech said the flowmaster is better. and glacial, i'm getting the MRT for that exact reason. the MRT is the only one i've heard in person and it sounds pretty awesome. the dealer turned on a sixer for me with it on and i had the biggest grin.

also, do you guys think it will run better with custom pipes?

i went with the mrt catback, I don't believe custom pipes are worth the money unless your trying to get every last gallop of horsepower out of her... since you don't have a charger I assume thats not the case. The mrt will show nice gains.. From what I've seen over the last two years... the headers and/or pipes wont show much more.Your next mods should be aaluminum driveshaft/ LSD with3.73s Thats where the next burst of horsepower is coming from.

Dunno, but one pops up for sale in the Classifieds here every few weeks -- I got mine for $150 shipped!
