Default WINDOW TINT - do it myself?

I was wondering how good the do it yourself window tint kits off the internet are and how hard it is to do yourself? Most detail shops charge about 350$ (Canadian) and it seems all the do it yourself kits are well below 100$, and 350$ is a lot of money to blow on something that the cops could make me peel off anytime. Advice??? Thanks

if i were you i would not install the tint myself, ask me how i know, i learned the hard way i messed up the back window of my focus there were bubbles and lines everywhere, not a pretty sight, see if the shop where you are getting it installed will take the tint for free if the cops make you take it off, where i got mine if i got a ticket they took it off for free and put it back on at a discounted price

I would think its pretty hard to do. Put the blackouts on that came with my louvers and it cam eout all bubbly and that was with like 2 hours of work. Pain in the ***

I've installed tint.. and would not do this car myself. The side windows are one thing.. but that back window will look like crap if you mess it up. You could also easily ruin the defroster.

you will never get a quality tint job doing it yourself. the professional tint is not even close to the crap they sell at autozone. just have it done.
