Why would you ask a car crowd for legal help? DO you go to a lawyer's formum to ask for help diagnosing your cars problems?

First thing, each state has different legal definitions for all the issues you have asked for help on, so someone from Florida, even if they've a lot of experience with getting and fixing tickets - isn't relevent to your issue.

Second thing, your circumstances are never going to match what someone else here had to deal with (weather, car conditions, police attitudes...) so, again, your situation is unique and you need to figure out how to get it fixed (if it can be) by someone who specializes in this...

Got a question about how do deal with a ticket, get a mouthpiece who specializes in helping people fight tickets. Open your phone book, look in the yellow pages under attorney's. You may find out you have little recourse but to plead guilty. Just don't decide what to do from advise from a Mustang Forum...
hes on a car forum becuase alot of us have had the same problem, or have been in the same situation......

idk lol its not technically legal but your allowed to do it and its not an enforced law...on a lane road if the center stripe is dotted...passing is permitted as long as you slow down once back on your side
WHAT!!!!! Where do you come up with that interpertaion of the law??
55 means 55 EVERYWHERE!! Hey we have all done it but it's ILLEGAL.
Maybe you should just pay the fine casue if you go to court with that attitude the judge will take pleasure in inposing the full fine and costs.....

listen seriously, call the court and plead not guilty, go on the court date and wait to talk to the prosecutor, plead your case and "IM from NJ", you can most likely talk it down to unsafe driving. A fine, court fee, and no points.I believe NY has the same type of process.

Wasn't there information about driving school with the ticket when you got it? Unless you hire a lawyer that is probably your best bet.

But the fact is you were speeding and it's illegal. Like people say: You have to pay to play.

i got a speeding ticket when i was 18, i was doing 90 on a 50. this was before my mustang. i was driving my mom's hand me down (1997 nissan altima 4 banger). all the lights were green and i didn't realize how fast i was going. i still say the cop clocked me wrong. i'm pretty sure i was doing over 100 but i'll stick with 90 lol.

anyways, i went to court, plead guilty, got no points on my record as long as i went to traffic school. 8 hr session = $100, speeding ticket = 300, getting my @ss kicked by mom = priceless.

that ticket taught me a lesson for 18 months. after 18 months it was as if the court never heard of me and i started getting my lead foot back haha.
OT, but what does the SDS decal mean? I saw a black stang with that on his fender the other night while cruising through La Jolla.

Well legally you can't pass traffic if you're driving more than 25mph above the rest of the traffic and also I, too, used to assume that speeding to get around someone on a freeway is ok, but that's only a frame of mind. It isn't legally ok, but you see people do it so often and may get used to it in traffic that you figure it is fine. Anyway paying it is the easiest way and then doing the traffic school. I never heard of being able to go to court and not do the traffic school. I'm almost 100% positive you can't do that in california.

So far I've got out of both of my speeding tickets, officers didn't enforce it but I did get a violation for passing on the shoulder which I knew you can't do, sometimes things happen. A few months after you settle the ticket you won't really be bothered by it any more, it's no big deal. Also if you need to go that fast make sure you look around and check if there's cops around first. That's what I used to always do in my bug when I wanted to hit 100+ mph (which definitely isn't safe by any means .
