Wasn't someone talking about a 4.5L stroker kit? I'm lookin for something cheaper than a turbo/supercharger and dont want nitrous

 

I don't think that would be cheaper than FI, but I might be wrong.

 

The only 4.5l stroker kit for the 4.0 I have heard of is for the Ranger/Sport Trak version. I don't think they have one for our 60 degree blocks yet.

Scratch that, it says 05/06 kits *coming soon* so I guess that's not for our 4.0's. My bad!

I don't know how many times I have attempted to squash this rumor. THERE IS NO 4.5L STROKE KIT FOR THE SOHC 4.0L!!!! The one advertised has been listed on his website for over 2 years as coming soon. SuperSix has estimatedthat his cost to build a crank fora stroker kitwould be $3000.

 

well i mean....you can say that all you want, but it could still happen. As i remember, the x-charger was said to be coming soon for a REAL long time, like a year and a half, and same with the powerhouse turbo setup. And a stroker kit takes quite a bit of r&d to get right. im crossin my fingers, but yea it will be very costly.

i called morana the most they will do is a 4.2 or 4.3 and there in canada

 

that really sucks, hell you can get a 3.8=4.2 so they are only gonna go .2 for the 4.0. Remember there are 300,000 of these motors floating around by the time Ford changes to the 3.5/3.6. So no stroker kit...oh well. GO F/I cheaper and less work.
