Long Tube headers? High pitched sounds?

Long Tube headers? High pitched sounds?
I want to add these to my list of mods after I get my GT Rear with Duals but I heard it would make it raspy and high pitched? Kinda ricey...Would this be the case? Should I just settle for the shorties?
