How To Brakes: ????
Hey Guys,
Does anyone know if there is a How To: for installing to brakes calipers padsand rotors. I believe it would be great How To for some of the DIY newbieson here.. I myself would love to tackle the brakes on mine. I've been researching it for few days now online,I feel pretty comfortable after reading all the stuff I found online butany advise or pointers would be great!
Thanks again,
- Ryan

Here's a write-up by TacoBill, who added aftermarket brakes to his GT. The info will be most helpful, I'm sure.

I'm feeling pretty confident about doing this whole job my biggest question is compressing the cylinders back on the calipers. I have read online from some articles that you may compress the master cylinders on the calipers back using a 4-6 inch C-Clamp and a block of small wood, my main concern is bleeding the cylinders due to ABS brakes. I’ve also read that you could place hose over the bleed valve to create a vacuum seal so once you do stop compressing it, will not allow no air back in.Does anyone got any advice on this? Quick Question I’m trying to decided on decent set of rotors, any suggestions. I was thinking of going to NAPA not sure yet tho…

RE: How To Brakes: ????
Make sure you suspend the caliper with a wire and don't let it hang from the brake line
since you have ABS bleed out the old brake fluid through the wheel cylinder when you use the c clamp and not back up through the master cylinder this could damage the ABS
Don't go cheap with rotors and get a name brand
It's possible that your existing rotors are still okay .If there still within specs. and not burned or deep goughes or out of round you can clean them thoroughly first and then just use a sanding disc and go over them with a non directional swirl finish and then clean them again thoroughly before installing them
use a little anti seize or high temp brake grease on the caliper slides
I would bleed the whole system ( each wheel ) after the install in proper sequence to get rid of old brake fluid and top off with fresh fluid
