if you just pull it, it should just release. Its held on by some compression clamps.. I took it off to tap into the wires to add some extra ligting.

I bought some Blue LED bulbs on Ebay for my mustang. The install was easy, only taking a few minutes and the look is very cool. Not Ricey, just cool...They come in pretty much all colors and the bulbs were about $24 shipped. I am sure you could find them cheaper but it was easier to just order them for me. The LED bulbs however are wider than the stock bulbs at the distal end of the bulb, so it isnt simply pulling the old bulb out and putting the new one in, you kinda have to work backwards. In other words, put the bulb in the bulb housing and hold it there while you reassmble it, when you open it up it makes perfect sense, it just isn't plug and play.

of the light out towards the seats from the center. I got those also
from MossMustang and promptly removed them after seeing them
in the dark. Tossed them into the trash on the way into the house.
Kinda looked too ricey for me.....

I also agree that with the LED's you do absolutely lose the focus map beam type of light, instead it is more of a broad illumination. Rice is in the eye of the beholder, I am 39, so it is not on my radar, besides, how often is your map light used? Now if your talking about neon strip lighting that stays on in your car, then EWWWW, but alas, its on, its blue, it goes off, I go fast.

Well you do use your interior lights when rallying at night.
Somewhere I read that a red or xxx (can't remember) coor light is best.
So it doesn't interfere with the driver at speed.
