See pic....is this what we're talking about here? If so, I never knew what that was for. Mine isn't magnetic OR a snap. It's attached to the seat just below this photo with a dark grey plastic stud button that has the V shaped ends on it so it stays put once placed through a hole. It's not really useable for me unless I wanted to permanently attach the seatbelt but then people getting in my backseat would have to crawl through it to get in (yes, I really do use my backseat alot) and that sounds like a huge PITA.

You can see the strap in this photo. Mine is a 2005, so it is magnetic....

LOL...This pic was taken on the first day home, so as you can see, at that point I did not know what they were for either....They seem to hold just fine, and make for easy access for the back seat......If anyone can fit back there......

Huh. The magnetic holder on my '06 has not unfasteened itself at all - holds the belt nicely.

Too funny, I didn't know thats what it was for....

I switched from cloth to GT take off Leather seats which come with a snap, they stay on perfectly but again,
I have never used them for what they were designed for. Thanks for the info!

ORIGINAL: luvrbcs

I have an 07 and mine works fine. I think it is a snap, not magnetic.
+1. Its down at the bottom of the drviers seat. It looks weird at first because it just appears to be a strap that attaches one part of the leather surface to the other, but its actually for the seat belt. it kinda helps but not really

Well I dont think it would count for a safety issue, more of a convience issue. When people ride with me the compain that the seatbelt is hard to grab, guess I dont even really think about it anymore. It is an ugly looking thing though, and since my does not even function properly mabe I should just remove it.

I wonder though, could this be covered under bumper to bumper warranty? That pretty much covers everthing right?

I would recommend taking it to the dealer under warranty. It's a safety issue, it should be covered. Never seen a TSB on it though, but doesn't mean they won't fix it.

I use mine, it's the button kind. Never really had any problems with it, but when someone gets in the back, I have to undo it so they don't trip over it. Then again, I also get to laugh at them for having to sit in the back, so it kinda works out.

OMG Thanks for sharing! I'm going to try and find mine now. This will make the seatbelt sit lower on the chest too right? I'm really short so right now my neck is getting cut on the belt.
