I was looking into trading in for a GT last January, and they were only going to give me $14k. That's with the Pony Package and all the extras mine has. Apparently they only go by acution value, not KBB or anything else.

As you might imagine, I said 'f*ck that!'
If you ever sell it, you would be better off to take the mods offand resale them. They will not increase the value on your car.....if anything, it could cause the value to be lower.

I have thought about selling mine.....but then I ask myself, why.....it's paid for.

about 6 months ago i saw a pony similar to mine going for 22k used at a dealership!! the only difference i could tell between mine and this one is mine has 15k miles and this one had 33k and window tint... weird considering i paid about 18k for mine brand new. whats even weirder is that it was sold in less than a month.... but this was six months ago and our cars are almost a dime a dozen now days...

Really? Up here I very rarely see an S197, I've only seen 3 others here in Missoula.

What's depreciation like on our stangs? I have an 05 with almost 50K and I'm thinking I should start looking into selling my baby sometime within the next 10-15K. What could I expect to get out of it? Don't worry, if I sell her, I'll be getting another stang of course
Why?

Did you lease your car or are you almost paid off? If you're not, you're going to lose money. Why not pay it off and simply save the car payment money for mods or a condo or something?

I see lots of S197s but not so many Pony Packages. I see tons of regular V6's totally stock driven by high school kids (and are usuallynot cleaned up and maintained...poor ponies)and then I see quite a few GTs with different mods (or I guess some could be V6s with enough mods to make it look like a GT). And then there's my next door neighbor who after seeing my car and thinking he was diggin' the new retro Mustang went out and bought the Red 2007 GT500 convertible that was on the showroom floor. Man, Iso love that car.

Expect to get around 14k selling it on your own. I bought my car with 24k miles on it, pony package for 14500. And there were plenty more like it in other colors for around that price.

I'm paid off. I want to sell the car while it is still relative low mileage (i.e. not 90+K).I'd like to get a stang with lower miles, maybe even a GT if I get enough money this summer.
