New Appearance Package for V6

RE: New Appearance Package for V6
lets see, if I were to put that on my mustang it would cost a little over $29k, You'd be an idiot to buy that car for 29k. If you factor in the people who want the looks and performance, that price could get them a premium GT with 80hp more,if you factor in the people who want a nice car but economical, they would stick with a premium v6 and not worry about added 10horsepower.
It seems like a nice package, but WAYYY too much money. I can see the performance package costing $800 (it has the shelby GT exhaust which is X pipe midpipes stinger mufflers for about $600, a crappy tune for about $100, and a crappy CAI for $100) then the appearance package for 1500 ( the grille, side scoops, spoiler, hood scoop, chin spoiler, wheels/tires, blackout panel, stripe) then $800 for the handling package.
for an additional $3100 I can see this being a hit. You figure for young kids who get their first car, they get much better looks, a little better performance (you can get a new tune for it, and add about 10 more hp)much better handling, and the insurance of the v6. andfor the older owners who just want a nice looking car and not too into performance they get a peppy car.
I'd get that performance package, get a new tune from brenspeed (your looking at a good 20-30 hp increase becuase that exhaust system is very good) and your set. then when you bring the car back to the dealer for warranty work you just upload the FRPP tune, and you good.
If you are good at negotiating you can have the dealer install the FRPP perf.package, handling package, and appearance packageand have them install FRPP headers and have them covered under warranty and have an AMAZING mustang. Thats what I'd love to have.

uhh......i'd rather keep the route i'm going. although i really like the fact of keeping my car with as many "ford" parts as possible, i also want the best for my car whether its a ford part or other brand. Ford parts aren't "always" the best and from what i've read, mustang problems that people have been having, including myself, are not mod related (except for my Peripheral iPod adapter...[:@]). still seems that you get the BEST parts at the BEST value through good aftermarket companies.

I'd much rather put my dollars into the dealer-installed performance package (so it's all under warranty)and then add my own mods as I like rather than them being all 'cookie-cutter' from Ford. That's what makes the cars so individual I think.

$1049 for a10HP gain?
yeah but this means that if you know someone that could order this package wholesale for you that you can get true duals, CAI with that killer heat shield, a ford tune, and a high perf. oil filter for probably around $600. FRPP has such a high markup, I ordered my FRPP dual exhaust kit with x pipe and everything for $369 + tax when the FRPP site lists this kit for $679.
And with all that if a person doesnt get 10rwhp there is something wrong. I wonder what size MAF they use in their intake?

yeah, i was starting to wonder the same thing. it better be larger than standard if its gonna be under ford warranty anyways.

I wonder if once you plug the new ford tune into the car, that becomes the stock tune? because then if you got another tuner would you store that as the stock tune? or the one that came on the car stock? argh
