Again, good to hear the cars stand up well to high mileages - just goes to show what regular maintainence will do.

My '05 has 15,000kms (approx 9300 miles) under her tires- my '90 has 249,000 km's (approx 155,000 miles)....race you to 180,000 miles

It's good to know that our cars can hang with high mileage.
Right now my Mustang has 2500 miles. It's not my daily driver, only get to drive it when I'm not working. If it's raining, the car stays parked.

My commute to work consist of going down a flight of stairs at my house.

Thats so funny me too! I live in a apartment beside and above my shop. Just wake up, make some coffee, then go down some stairs and look at my car before I start work...lol

That's cool you made it past 100k. Some of us haven't been so lucky to not have tons of problems. My car has been in the shop more times than you can imagine. Luckily for me, it hasn't reached 36k but it's at 30,700 miles right now. I'm really scared for after the 36k. I didn't get an extended warranty and if I got one now, it would cost $4200. I could probably find it cheaper, but not that much.

Did you buy the car new? Did you take it in for routine service? I'm just trying to figure out why you have been having so many problems.
What year is your car? Is it your daily driver? Are you rough on it?

It's an 06. Yes it's my daily driver and no I'm not rough on it. You're a very active poster on this forum so I'm curious as to why it's a shock that my car has problems with it. Nearly everyone on this forum has had tons of problems with their stangs from electrical problems, to water leaking, fuel pumps, clutches, brakes, shaker 500. The s197s are problematic. Most of us have been fortunate to have these things replaced under warranty. Some have been very fortunate and haven't had many problems at all though that seems to be the minority. I don't know where Ford screwed up in the engineering but how can they go from an as reliable as a honda civic sn95 new edge to as reliable as a ford pinto s197?

i have about 50k on mine, but im more than doubling the original power output of the motor lol.

i just sold my 01 explorer with the same 4.0 SOHC at 215,500 miles, and it was still running perfect. no leaks, no misfires, no engine light, nothing.

I agree. Our cars have a great v6 engine. I think our engines can make 250k easy.

The problem is with every other moving part on the car besides the engine lol.
