like they say in that cadillac commercial......."when you turn your car on.....does it return the favor?" i agree some of the mechanical issues have really sucked but i still get a chub when i look out at that bad *** stang sittin in the driveway. makes me giggle like a little school girl. i work in a garage and we see every manufacturer rushing the design and build to get new cars to market and fixing those problems is what makes my paycheck. special thanks to GM and CHRYSLER!!!!! they make my stang payments!! lol

Really? I thought GM and Chrysler stepped it up a notch when it came to reliability.

they are getting better, but they are still far behind ford according to pretty much every survey. I agree my mustang has been relatively disappointing in terms of quality, but most of my problems are with rattles and just poor interior quality. Mechanically the car is sound, and I think that is reflected on most surveys, the mustang does very well mechanically, but when it comes to interior, rattles, squeaks, and audio it seems to do poorly. Anyway my point is the car seems sound mechanically and most of my problems have been mere annoyances. Enjoy your cars and I hope they don't cause much trouble, at least it looks damn good.

I don't understand is it your mission to talk yourself out of your car?

If Ford is so bad compared to fart cans and other imports, why then, my 06 (22K miles) and my 01 F150 (67K miles) have had any problems yet, what so ever (Nada)under hard driving conditions? I don't pamper them.

My best friend's wife 99 explorer (170K miles), his 01 F150 (105K), his brother 00 F150 (80K+,His neighbor's Crown Vic (200K+) only now has a slipping tranny) andall they did is replacing belts and light bulbs.

One bad Stang ain't gonna make me get another brand. No sir

I wonder what the guy owns that isn't giving him trouble? How much goes wrong around him?
It never ceases to amaze me how certain types drive otherwise perfectly good running vehicles off the lot only to have them come back with all kinds of problems, then when they leave it for a diagnosis, nothing can be found wrong with it. Then they come pick it up and lo and behold, it starts friggin up again. Hint hint!

I agree Ford has significantly improved quality in the last decade. Look at any recent survey or magazine publication and Ford consistently is in the top 10 (or higher) for quality (out of 55 nameplates) lincoln and mercury have been making the top 5. The mustang has some annoyances (rattles, noisy T5) but overall it is a very reliable car. There is a TSB for the strut mount problem and the water leaks, yeah it sucks for the people they happened to, but Ford is trying to make it right, that is what the warranty is for. Overall I am happy with my mustang and hope it lasts like my 02 did (90k miles relatively trouble free) before I traded it in for this one.

Everything has a context, if you know what I mean...
I feel bad for the guy, I think he really has a true bad one.

But without being ****, if you do your maintenance with discipline, your Ford product will last you.

As far as rattles (not yetin my car though), let's not forget that our cars are a mass production item that sells for $25/27 Grands.
We're not talking high luxury here, and it's fine by me.
