Default Ok Now Im Starting To Wonder...

every time someone compliments my car they ask if its auto or a stick, and them say something like "oh that sucks"
just how much faster are manuals than autos?
what are the benefits?

Manuals are able to reach full HP potential...auto's cannot. That's the main reason ppl feel sorry for those of us w/ Auto's. Lol.

Mostly you can control the car instead of it controling you.

It is like 10-15rwhp difference I believe. But in a race the manual has to be perfect and the auto's just step and go.!!!

i have found most people who say this do not nor have they ever driven a stick. they only say this because of the thought that a sports car should be a manual. I have a manual because I like it, but most people do not get a manual not even in a sports car like the mustang. don't worry about it enjoy your car!

yeh in addition to the less horsepower, theres a "Cool" factor to having a stick, as well as autos just dont seem fitting to a sports car. On a larger scale, what would you say to a guy with a ferrari, if he had an auto? (if that was actually available) Also, not to offend anyone, but the v6 is already on the borderline of being labeled as a girl car (for some reason) bc its not an 8. And to make it anauto on top of that sortof lacks its street cred. Believe me, people who know cars dont care too much, but to the naked eye, it seems puny to have an auto. JMO
