Default Mad Props to the s197 v6

Hay there guys i need to aplogieze here real quick to ya. I never really gave the s197 v6 any credit for well any thing... i had the v8 fevor and never thought twice about the smaller v6 engine. Today i went to a used car dealer ship and test drove a 2006 v6 for ****s and gigles. first of all the dealership added the chrome 5 spoke rims with new ties, and a shaker hook and some stripes to spruce it up a bit. Well i just need to say guys after driving that im sorry for ever mistreating the v6 community, i feel proud to call u guys fellow mustang/performance enthusist. Keep in mind im 17 so i was kinda lucky i got the chance to test drive such a new car with low miles anway and it was a treat as it was my first time driving an s197. The car handled great and when i got the aproval of the salesman to open it up i was awed by the power that resided in the six banger. The only v6 mustang i had driven before was a 98 and bah it was a turd so i had expected much of the same...way off. The rumble from the stock engine and near stock exhaust was very impressive and that comes from a guy whos got full exhaust on his 5.0.
ANYWHO my point is sorry for doubting u guys, i hold a new high respect for the 4.0 s197 cant wait to test drive a gt though lol.

-Robert

edit: i dont know if this link is any good but this is the one i test drove. Autotrader Link

Thanx....I hate people that after you say you have a mustang they ask is it a GT or a 6, and then they go aww comon whyd you get a 6. Now we got a gt'r on our sides lol. In fact, I believe the 4.0 has the same hp as your 5.0, yours has some more torque though. But thanx again I appreciate the compliment, as probably everyone else. Just goes to say how much of a sleeper we are

Just wait until 2009 .The new v6 is supposed to have approx 265 hp or so .And from a 3.5 L .Actually I've heard as low as 250 and as high as 280 .I'm thinking that the manual then may be able to do under 6 sec 0-60 or close to it

ya thats what ive heard, why degrading from a new engine they just came out with (or so i assume). Wont this be taking a hit on torque or at the very least no gain?

Well thanks, you should really feel it when you mod it, XCAL and CAI really do great things with it. THe throttle lag is almost no existent.

you know i use to be the same exact way but now i love it. when someone comes up to me and wants to run me, i love saying yeah its justa sixer. oh yeah and an AUTOMATIC. it gets them all confident only for them to watch themselves get walked by a "little" sixer LOL. im sure i would love a v8 but i am completley happy with my sixer. i love it.
