more torque on v6?
So I put a dual exhaust system with an H pipe on versus my previous jacked up exhaust and noticed a considerable increase in top end power.... which was sweet, and the sound is amazing.. all this at the cost of a considerable decrease in low end torque, which is my problem.
I liked my car before way better with it's low end power, it was responsive. Right now thougt the car seems to have two modes "kinda fast" and "oh ****". I'm running a simple canned tune and I'm looking for a way to get considerable more low end torque, without more HP in the car.
What would do that for a v6?
(the cause is obviously I moved the car's exhaust's resonant frequency, from 2000 rpm to about 3500 (in addition to free-er flowing exhaust which added some hp)).

You can always get a different tune or go to a UDP which will give you more low end TQ I know Dougs TQ tune is good in the low end but if you wanna see better increas I'd do the best mod possible and change the gears to a 3.73 or 4.10. I coundn't believe how much quicker out of the hole I was with my 3.73's, it was night and day, I hit a 2.00 60 time NA with my car.
Ha ha it's funny you should reply, I first got my "super v6" idea from your posts.
What I'm trying to avoid is gettng or stealing the torque I want from too high an RPM. I know the car pulls sick at the high RPM's but a more usable power band makes the car faster off the line over gears, which just hide and blinde that issue.
Both are good, gears is something I can do easily.

I believe that the powerband on the NA 4.0 is pretty early, max TQ is at 3200 Rpms and HP a lil higher...
I had for a while Dougs TQ tune with 3.73's and it pulled hard, I went with a dyno tune and it pulled even harder. I'm guessing that the tune is the best way to go and I'd specify to the tuner to put some lower power in the tune at WOT....
Thanks for the Super V6 comment I hope I helped....

Is that 10hp a piece or for all four?
I had the same problem. I wanted more low end torque. The gears helped, but you might want to try a set of Doug's tunes. I think that they are about $180 for three tunes. I got the 87 octane performance tune along with the 91 torque and 91 race tunes. Remember, they are just tunes. They will probably be a noticeable improvement over the ones that you have now, but be realistic about what you expect out of them.
