Default cat problems

When I got home from work on Monday night I heard a weird noise coming from under the car. I am pretty sure it's one of the cats but i'm afraid to take it to the stealership and have this turn into a pissing match because I have duals. Has anyone else had this problem and if so how did it resolve itself??

What kind of noise? Ticking? Does your cat look normal or is it bright red (misfire)? A simple heat gun can tell whether or not the cat is bad, I think a scan tool will also tell you if its your cat or not. Is your check engine light on?

No check engine light. I sounds almost like a shield rattle but I dont think they have shields ..do they?? The cats also look normal no glow or anything.

I also just got back from lunch and it made no noise. Now I don't know what to think.

I'd check all your connections you have with the duals first. I'd bet it's coming from there. Just from having a muffler installed I chased a rattle for days. It was the sleeve connector, finally.

i thought you were talking about cats literally for a second, reason being is we use to have cats that slept underneath the car during the colder seasons (they refused to be kept inside). And one morning my mom didnt pay attention, and yea...[:@]
