RE: pypes mid-muffler v6 exhaust
i just installed a standard 24" glasspack mid muffler with a 22" x 5" baffled tailpipe, still a single exhaust system with a faux left side pipe for the look of duals. it sounds 10x better than ANY dual exhaust setup ive heard on the 40s here in my area. very deep and muscular V8ish sound, no rattly ricer sound and it doesnt have that typical hissy noise. most casual observers wont know its a v6. for about $200 in parts and a days work im extremely happy with the end result.

so you cut out a section of your mid-pipe to add in a glasspack...then just straight piped the back where the stock muffler is (basically - other than adding the fake left pipe)?

were the muffler was i welded a couple short bends together to connect off theend of the midpipe which connects with aresonated 5" x 22" polished stainlesssteel tailpipe section i built with a 4" tip. looks like the tailpipes from the LX stangs of the late 80s and early 90s(see pic) but you only see the bottom half of the pipe from the side of the car, ikept the stock 40 rear bumper just for this look.i can post pics later this week.
