Default throttle body Q's!?

Ok well today i got bored and was looking over my car, i took off the throttle body, and the inside before and after the valve(i dont know the technical term for this) Well it was sorta a ruff surface, sooo i broke out the steel wool and polished it all inside, now it is all smooth and shiny, and it almost seemed like i had a better throttle response, and it hisses louder. This might be just be but it really felt faster, do you think that this could of helped at all?

Yes, it definitly helps with throttle response and mileage, not sure how much though. It's suggested to do on all vehicles every something thousand miles. Done it on my car, my mom's car, and my dad's car usually once a yr. It helps. They also sell something at autozone for you to use to clean it.Some spray.

You my sir just cleaned your throttle body.
The Workshop Manual warns of scratching
the TB surface with anything rough. [:@]
