Default Vortech non-intercooled---how fast?

Sorry for another supercharger question. I looked over the vortech site & the supercharger install doesnt look too bad but the intercooler install looks kinda rough. If I went with the non intercooled Vortech(maybe with a different pulley even) approx how quick would the car be? Anywhere close to the GTs or does that require an Intercooler? What about later model vettes (like year 2000) would an intercooled 4.0 put up any kind of a fight? Thanks again.

What are your mods? A non-intercooled vortech w/9psi pulley and a muffler/duals will net 270rwhp~ on an auto which will make you able to run with and beat stock S197(05+)gt's and previous years lightly modded GT's. You should net the same amount of rwhp w/an automatic trans car and a hi-po x w/2.8" pulleyand muffler, possibly 10rwhp more. Intercooled votechw/stockpulley(10psi)will allow you to beat S197 well modded gt's and and a lot of heavily modded older gt's too.StockC5(97-04) vettes that aren't Z06's will take the intercooled vortech kit + 11psi pulley+ gears + aluminum driveshaft/sticky tireswill allow you to run with them and possibly beat them, with those mods it's a drivers race. T-lokis necessary for any f/i set-upI'd say.

Just arrived looking for info - neat site! [sm=hiya.gif]

What about running the Vortech kit + methanol injection for the few times you need more oomph? Seems simpler (and not as heavy) as carrying around the intercooler? Might require some clever tuning though...

TTT...also, other than the PITA factor of all the extra plumbing, the Vortech intercooler runs around $1000 more, vs a nice Snow kit for $400 or less...see article here...need a way to keep the boost level down when off the methanol and up when on it...
