Default Trying to clarify the difference between FRPP and Borla muffler...

Okay, so before I actually order the part and pay the money, I just want clarification on the whole "Borla/FRPP" muffler thing. As far as I understand it, the muffler found in the Ford Racing Performance Part catalog, listed as M-5230-5V6, is manufactured by Borla. That's right, right?

From what I can tell, the only difference between the muffler found in the Borla catalog, listed as part no. 11751, and the FRPP muffler, is the logo stamped on the muffler itself. Obviously, the muffler found in the Borla catalog has "Borla" stamp, whereas FRPP has "Ford Racing" stamp. But structurally and internally, the parts are the same, correct?

The FRPP V6 muffler that comes in the FRPP kit is not the same as the FRPP muffler that comes with the stamped tip.

The FRPP V6 muffler is a GTA (GT500 muffler) and ahs nothing stamped on the end, it has a 4" tip which is nice and clean. I believe it is made my borla also.

The borla muffler i think is based more off the FRPP stinger version (i could be wrong). Both are extremely similiar, you will love either one, but for the price difference I don't think it is worth it. There just isn't a big enough difference to justify the price. Go with the FRPP, you will love it.

Hmmm... So the muffler found in the FRPP catalog is a Borla-made GTA (GT500takeoff)? Is that right?

Doesn't the GT500 come with regular GT mufflers? I think it's the Shelby GT that has the GTAs.

Bleh either or.. it's one of the two My point was that it is the GTA muffler not the Ford Racing stamped muffler (which is the stinger i think?).

There's a FRPP muffler, the one that the OP posted, that's made by Borla. It's the same thing except for the stamp on the tip and the part number. Then there's the FRPP GTA, which si an entirely different muffler that is made by Ford.

I clicked the wrong link the first time. Looks like they have an optional muffler for the V6 which is what he posted.

The FRPP V6 dual exhaust kit is M-5230-GTA which is listed on the parts list for the kit. That is the one I am refering too.

Then they also have the stamped ford racing tipped ones which are SVT mufflers M-5230-SGT* .

LOL too many mufflers.

Hey oddysey, don't you have a sound clip of your new mufflers?
Were they about 600-650?
How much to install?
I have Gt take-off, it's just not loud enough at idle.
