FRPP CAI
So has anyone out there installed the FRPP CAI with the Bullitt bucket?

The price is cheaper than the usual fodder with a tuner. Just curious if anyone has it and if they were impressed with the results.

RE: FRPP CAI
Well darn it. I already have a C&L, don't need one, but I'm very interested in the actual performance of the FRPP power packs they're offering now. I'm surprised nobody has one yet. I've seen a V6 on a different forum with the actual Bullitt intake transplanted. The FRPP claims to be an 85mm. Now the included tune might not be the best. I bet a good tuner could find more ponies than the claimed 12hp boost. Maybe that's why no one has bought it. The low gainadvertised. I feel thisnumber is closer to what everyone really gets no matter what intake/tune they getthrough the mail.

RE: FRPP CAI
No, I haven't dyno'd my car. I never really had intentions to, I researched the intake and tune purchase for a long time before I bought anything. I went with C&L because of their websites review of their own kit, and they were on the level and made no outrageous claims. You canread it here: http://www.cnlperformance.com/05-06v6.html They weren't trying to claim 25-30hp gains like I've seen other places selling kits/tuners, andthey explained why you won't see those kind of numbers with a CAI/tune with the 4.0. That's why I went with bama also, along with the excellent rep he has on the forum. Iaccepted when I bought it, that it wasn't going to be more than a 16hp gain tops. Whether or not the sum of my parts I have now adds to that is moot. It's not going to be that much from headers, duals, and x-pipe that's for sure. If the FRPP CAI would have been available then, I would have bought it, and never looked back. If you wanted to assume the dualskit and headers add anything, they would've added to the FR CAI the same amount. Now having it tuned byDoug (or any other talented tuner)in person, may bring outa few more, because he's got thecar there and the grade of gas that's in it and tweak it to the car's capability, notan "average" settingthat will work on every customer through mail order. But Ihonestly don't think there would be enough gain to justify loading up and driving to Jasper for him to do it.

RE: FRPP CAI
Very true. I think you would probably gain more with the headers. Reasoning behind that would be better exhaust flow.I amestimating you have gained5 to 10.Probably sometime in June I am going to be getting my car tuned with the addition of headers. Longtube Kooks and see what I might gain from that.

RE: FRPP CAI
My exhaust was in preparation for the X-charger. But as time goes on, the more I seem to talk myself out of it. I love the sound of the kit, so it was still a good mod. I was so close to jumping in on the last group buy, but with the gas prices going up daily, I just don't know. My car is my daily driver, I need it reliable, and affordable to drive. So the ability to put 87 octane in it, keeps me from modding it in a waythat would eliminate that option. If I get too hard up for extra hp, I'll just get a GT.... No I won't, they cost too much and I want the X-charger so bad I can taste it...LOL

RE: FRPP CAI
I understand that. I was thinking about that the other day. With all my mods, I could just get a GT and Mod it. If you never looked at my photo gallery on here I have. I think there is two pics of my stang and my brother's Bullitt when he had it. He traded it in about month ago got a 3 series BMW. I checked out the new Bullitt and it looked good and everything. But If I were to buy one I probably would not mod it, only one would be a regular gt. As of right now I feel I have to much invested in my 6 to trade for a gt.
