Track Times on & off the Bottle

Track Times on & off the Bottle
Finally got to visit the track and make some passes.
The weather conditions: warm, but not to hot and cooled down into the evening, light rain was on the way after 10 pm.
Track: Island Dragway in Great Meadows NJ. Elavation is 515 ft, Track was resurfaced last month and traction was very good.
Mods are in the sig. I was running my VMP 87 per tune, stock tire pressure and 5/8 tank of gas. Scales were't set up so I couldn't check my weight.
The tune only passes were made in the early evening and those on the bottle as the sun was going down into the evening. Bottle 950 psi on the first run and 800 psi by the last pass.
Best Times / Tune only: (5 total passes)
60' = 2.147
330' = 6.234
1/8 mi = 9.633, MPH = 72.4
1000' = 12.552
1/4 mi = 14.996, MPH = 92.48
Best Times / 87 Tune + 75hp shot N20 (6 total passes)
60' = 2.103
330'= 5.91
1/8 mi = 9.0 53, MPH = 79.31
1000' = 11.718
1/4 mi = 13.963, MPH = 100.37
Tried to launch around 2500 rpm. Most of the time avoided excessive tire spin or motor bog, but never perfect.
Shifts were planned at 5500 and usually completed by 6000
3rd gear was trapping out around 6000, but with the juice as high as 6400. Tried shifting into 4th a few times and lost ET.
I wasn't power shifting, but only backed off as little as possible.
If you care to check out the details of the individual runs I've posted them here.

Congrats on breaking 14's NA and 13's on the juice. Good 60ft times for streets, with some work, you can get a 2.0x on streets, but I would ust go straight to DR's. If you can cut a 1.9, you can probably get a 13.7 or 13.6 out of the car. I found with the juice on streets, to launch somewhere between 1500-1800.
What rpm did the spray hit? Way to get out there, congrats on cracking the 13's.
EDIT: Just looked at your spreadsheet, 2800 rpm window switch.

Jim,
First, I hadn't noticed you were from Stroudsburg. That's a beautiful part of PA. My son went to Scout camp last summer at Resica Falls, which isn't too far away from there.
Getting back to your times - AWESOME JOB! Picking up a full second on a 75 shot sure is a nice improvement. A pair of DR's will help not only your 60' time, but also eliminate any wheelspin from shifting.

RE: Track Times on & off the Bottle
Thanks all for the feedback and congrats
All the n/a passes were pretty much one after another and as soon as I drove in the gate so a little cooling down between roounds would have helped. Also, if I head down to Englishtown which is down at sea level it should be good for a couple of tenths.
My launch rpm wasn't as consistant as I would have liked. I'll probably need to get a line lock so I cankeep the launch consistant and find the best point. Do you think I need adjustable LCA brackets, or are drag radials enough? Too bad I have a set of DR's - except they're not radials (old school belted)and they're 15".
Of course, (that's the reason nitrous get a bad rap -it so easy to get gready and when you break everyone blames the juice not the juicer)I'd like to run the 100 shot on the 87 tune for starters and maybe get a custom race tune to go with the 100 shot.
I've been up here 18 years now, originaly forn NJ. It is still a state where you can be ado it yourself type car guy. Even though I don't ride a bike I love the fact that helmets aren't mandatory!
I was pleasantly surprised withthe full second on ther 75 shot. Thought I would need to tweak the fuel jet and get a dyno tune.

ORIGINAL: AmericanICON Very nice times! Any plans to increase the nitrous?
