Default Mustang recall?

Anyone with an 07 mustang get a recall in the mail to reprogram the restraint module?

I just got mine and I'm wondering if I take it in is that going to mess up my tune or anything? Because it sounds like they have to go into the computer.

no

they don't mess with the PCM (powertrain control module, what your tune affects), just the RCM (restraint control module)

if you're that worried about it, return to stock and go into the dealer

but plenty of members on this forum have had this done without returning to stock, and nothing bad happened to their tunes

Took mine in a few months ago. Doesn't take them very long to fix it. It has to do with your seatbelts, so don't worry about taking any mods off.

I didn't even bother (although I am NOT telling you not to bother). To be in any danger, you need a 70 lb person sitting in the full forward postion, without a seat belt, or some similarly stupid scenario. Basically a tiny person, in the full foward position, without a belt if I recall.

....and it has to do with the airbag deploying with too much force in certain situations, not the seat belts.

+1 but its still a liability and its somewhat comforting to know that ford is paying attention to these details no matter how impractical the scenario is.

does this fix take all day? or is it a lunch break fix?

It took my shop about 15 minutes from the time I dropped it off to the time they drove it back around. As long as they aren't that busy, it doesn't take long.
I would call first and make an appointment.

Done it. Didn't take long. Told them not to mess with the tune (some dealers reflash it with the latest patch update as a favor - thanks but no thanks) and they wrote that on the work sheet.Mechanic who did it owns a 04 Cobra so it was no issue.

I was told it had to do with the passengers side occupancy sensor
logic. I opted out taking it to the stealership as I dont like the free
scratches they seem to be handing out when I go nor do I need
my seats greased as they dont squeek. I dont haul passengers so
I dont really care about their silly recall. Now if they would address
the real problems that need to be recalled like the water leakage and
fuel pump problems, I might take it back to them.
