Default RE: dead battery

Not only will the anti-theft drain the battery but the CD player will start up (with no one in the car) shuffle the CDs for a while and then shut down. No idea why, but it happened once when I was sitting in the car (turned off) while I was cleaning. My battery went dead (I have a 2007 with 7000 miles) after I left it sit for a month. Thestock battery is a total POS. I replaced it with an Optima.

The Skipper will do it in a heart beat, as I have posted earlier, the voltage drops on your battery and it sends the skipper into the initialize mode. It will keep initializing until your battery is dead. I have seen it numerous times on my own car. The only thing I don't know is how low the voltage has to drop in the battery to put the skipper into frenzy mode. I have been pulling the skipper fuse when I don't use the car for a while, I have had no dead battery issues since I started to pull the fuse. My battery is the original battery, from Nov 2004. The skipper is flawed in more ways than just skipping.

Cras today are not designed to be left undriven for any long periods of time.
Modern vehicle electronics still draw amperage when the key is off unlike the
vehicles of yesteryear.
Look for the group code on the OEM battery and get the same group code to replace it.
Or get an optima red top and be done with it. They like long term amperage draw.
