Reverse lights wont go off!!
Sorry! I know I already asked this, but I cant find the thread.....
I have an 06 V6 manual trans - The reverse lights will not go off, in any gear. Talked to the stealership - they have a couple ideas, but i just cant find a good day to leave the car. Any suggestions out there? They think it may be the switch (? where, can I fix it, etc?)
Thanks all!!!

What a classic the S197 Mustang is.
I had the exact same problem in my 1970 SportsRoof. Wound up putting a toggle switch on the lower dash to turn them on and off.
I'm sure your dealer will have a better idea than my jury rigged solution.

if you put your car on some ramps or jack it up get under the car, there will be a black rubber head that is against the tranny, i bet the connectors are touching, my 99 had a similar problem, i just had to put some electrical tape between the two connectors to ensure they wouldnt touch.

with its high/med speed can buss networksand modern space age electronics?
Its not just a battery, fuse, switch, BU lights anymore. BOTH the PCM and the
SJB have a role in illuminating the BU lights via the high speed can buss.

Gotta be the switch. If the dealer isn't helping, take it to another dealership. It should be a reasonably easy fix!!

It COULD be the switch, but its probably the SJB.
How about the water leak/smart junction box corrosion problem.
Is the carpet wet or musty on the passengers side floorboard.
Pull the kick panel and door sill off and inspect for water damage.
Pull the carpet back along with the pad and inspect there for water damage.
Look over the many connections to the SJB thats located behind the passengers
side kick panel for signs of water damage and corrosion. [

Pull the connector and if the lights go out, its the switch.
If the lights stay on, its the probably a bad SJB.
Always use jack stands and/or sturdy ramps. Never rely
on the OEM jack for under vehicle repairs.
