my friend gave me a sct xcalibrator 2 that he used on his 2005. only thing is my car is an 06 and when i plugged it in to the obd it said wrong vehicle. is there a way to change it to my vehicle.

You nees to get it unlocked. These devices get locked to a single vehicle. To fix this it must be done by an SCT dealer.

Your friend needs to return his vehicle back to stock in order for you to use the tune on your own car, no such thing as sharing tuners.

that and your computer code is prolly different then his be careful ive seen ppl lock up a car and erase everything from the comp then thats pricey to fix

Hope your friend still has his car so he can unlock it. If not "I hear" it's about $150 to unlock it at an SCT dealer. If you can get it unlocked you can get tunes emailed to you from brenspeed, bama, or VMP for about $50 each. But they need specific info about YOUR car before they can figure the right tune for you. Hope you didn't pay to much for it!! I would buy just about anything used EXCEPT a tuner. I've heard one to many horror stories.
