pretty much, if your juicing it or super/turbo charging then you'll most likely want an 8.8

I'm pretty new to the modding world myself, in order to get both back wheels to spin instead of just the one we need a lsd right? That is all we need to make them spin, but to make it safe and durable and if adding power that is when the 8.8 would be needed as well as a new driveshaft correct?
A T-Loc is all thats needed for two tire spins with the 7.5" rear end.
Thats a bigNO onneeding anew driveshaft with the 8.8 rear end in a V6.
www.newtakeoff.com has the 8.8 with whatever gears you want (3.31, 3.55, 3.73, 4.10)
with the T-Loc factory set-up with a V6 driveshaft pinion flange installed to match up
with the V6 driveshaft. Check them out.
Its a truely drop and drive installation minus the need for all new 'one time use' fasteners.

I wouldn't go past 110mph if I were you...

yes Afixer had his driveshaft explode @ 118 mph. i believe mine is loose after i topped out around 110. here's his thread: https://mustangforums.com/m_1286750/...tm.htm#1286750
If you need the V6 pinion flange i actually bought one thinking i was going to get a 8.8 but i'm going to just T-loc it so i need to sell it. PM me if you want it.

the driveshaft issue was for 2005 IIRC; ive gotten my stang up to 120 with the governer disbaled. there really is no great reason to ever go that fast, so it shouldnt really be a safety concern.

getting a new driveshaft will reduce rotational mass and make you a bit quicker, the stock driveshaft is somewhat heavy (not as heavy as the GTs though).

you dont need a real 'tune' after you get gears, the only thing the tuner is doing is adjusting the speedometer, if you go to a lower gear ratio without adjusting for it your speedometer will think youre going faster than you really are (lower gear ratios will increase your rpms).

i thought manuals came with 3.55s for us 6ers as well as the GTs, maybe im wrong. the 3.55s, if they did exsist for our 7.5s, are not worth it. 3.73s are a good choice for f/i and 4.10s are still okay, but would be a better choice for n/a, assuming you dont do a lot of expressway driving (they will hurt your gas mileage). also, its a bit uncomfortable to be crusing at 2800 rpms on the expressway. i have 4.10s now, i will be swapping to 3.73s on july 21st.

t-lok is a great upgrade. do it. do gears at the same time because its the same install (it actually makes things a bit easier because you can set up the gear and locker first, and you dont have to seperate the old gear from the stock differental. people also have trouble setting up a used gear IMO. )

also, i love your car. got any more pics of the front end? ive got a torch red coupe with the same stripes and am looking for a new bumper. did you need a gt grill with that kit?

the stock sixers come with 3.31's and i don't believe i need a new grille for the kit. (i bought it this way) and it's a SSE kit. i know SSE makes a v6 body kit, so i'm assumign that this is the v6. hopefully it is haha b/c i just ordered a CDC blackout grille for the 6, and if it doesnt fit im gonna be pissed. here's a front end pic:
