Default 4.0 Ltr and tires question

Hey guys n gals,
I was wondering if anyone might know whether the long tubes for the 4.0 are really worth it? Anyone have a set thats recorded something?

Also, If i want to start going to the track once a month or so should i get a second set of cheap light rear wheels with BFG Radial drag tires or would I be ok driving with them on all the time. Im not too sure about the wear n tear of the street.

C'mon now? Somebody has to know something?

I wouldn't get long tubes unless I had a power adder.

If you have track aspirations, then I would get
1) CAI/tune
2) gears/tlok

As for tires, it is a great idea to have a set of rears for track use. Personally I would use MT ET Street drag radials and mount them on some rears. I wouldn't suggest driving them on the street though as they don't like the rain. You can always drive to the track if you first check the weather to make sure no inclement weather is coming though.

You can pick up a set of rear stock 16" wheels very cheap and mount the 255/16's to them.

Thanks buckman. I have a savings account for the t-lok 3.73 gears and C&L and Tuner. I just need to figure out who I want to get a 93 tune from.
I saw someone is selling some off brand headers for 75$ so I think im going to look into those and if they are crap...at least they were only 75. ANy F/I is out of the question until I have a Reliable DD so I dont run into any problems with the stang.

Sounds like you have a solid plan in place. Check out VMP for the tune, they are within driving distance if you wanted to visit for a dyno tunein the future (price of gas is redefining driving distance though)
