Just go with twin turbos, there is no reason for you to swap engines when you have a perfectly finctional one now.

OK lets say you do put a bigger V8 in the car.....you still will be slow as hell and still need to supercharge..... - y would it still be slow as hell?
Because just getting a new engine still doesnt get you very much in the way of HP gain. You put a stock GT engine in for 3-4K lets says, well now you are about as fast as a stock GT, which isnt very fast in all reality. Even if you get a bigger v8 over the 4.6, you will paying more, gaining more wieght and still not making a ton more HP.

Say you put a GT500 motor in. I dont know what the GT500s run without a blower, maybe 350 or so HP. Which for the cost is not worth it without putting a blower and putting some real boost to it.

It comes down to what you call fast i guess and how much money you want to spend. If you are only looking to get to the power levels of a stock GT or slightly higher, then go FI on what you got. You will have a lot more fun with that then putting a bigger engine in.

Why spend the extra cash on twins, when a properly sized single will perform just as well.

That's Pauls car (PHP) and I would not class it as affordable. I've met Paul on several occasions at FFW and seen the car run. He's been through several engines on that car. Its a full on track car, gutted, ac delete, slicks, skinnies, vortech (with the blower upgrade as well), nitrous, etc.

To the OP: Boosting a 4.0 is probably the way to go. Get a PH turbo, and go low 12's on 11psi.

Very true, what size turbo were you running on your 4.0 setup?

Yea I just remember that its the one from PH. If you were to guess, what size twins would be close to the same as that single?

lets say i already have the engine, transmission, Driveshaft, everything.. How much will it cost to take mine off and put all this in my car making it a V8? and is it worth it if I already have all the part and don't have to buy it?
