Towing with the 4.0

Rent a big U-Haul truck and TOW the stang with it.
This question is asked repeatedly.
If you wanted to tow something, you should have bought a truck.
If you do tow, your tranny will not like you especially if its an AUTO.
And the V6 brakes could take a beating as well. They are marginal
for a V6 without the additional 1000Lbs of a loaded trailer.

I agree. I don't think it's that big of a deal. With a proper hitch installed, it will tow just fine. Lots of people tow light trailers with a V6. And they do it in a truck that weighs 500-1000# more than a Mustang. I think the 'Stang is plenty versatile.

and brakes thats going to suffer and suffer hard during that move.
How many miles is it again?

The Stang
is a lot tougher than you think it is. Got a truck motor, weighs 3300 lbs empty, and has a live axle which is good for towing. If you put 4 200lb people (tight fit in the back I know) and that is 800lbs right there. The thing is built like a tank, it'll take it. I use a combination of dynamic braking and brakes in my everyday driving anyway. That Tremec T5 tranny is plenty tough. It isn't going to wear out from one cross country tow. Total weight towed will be about 1000 lbs. I have every confidence that it will do fiine.
