Default Tuner input

Alright well my xcal 3 is in the mail and i cannot wait, but i want to get a tuner for my brother for christmas for his 08 v6. I had a few questions as i was looking into buying an already unlocked one to save a few bucks. First off, i get mixed answers on whether or not the xcal 2 will work for 07 and 08's. Some say they do while others say it is only for 05-06's. Does anyone have one or know for sure whether an xcal 2 will work for the 07/08.

Also, is there much of a difference in a diablosport or an SCT tuner? Or is it strictly dependent on the tuner you go through (Bama, VMP, EVO, etc)

Which do you all who have tuners suggest?

The 07s/08s require a larger 'tune file' than previous years. I dont think the xcal 2 can handle the larger files.
