Whats up all, in the process of buying a 99 gt in mint condition with 36k on it. Car has satge 2 cams, densencharger intake, 373 gears, throttle body. Also has full length headers xpipe and slp loudmouth exhaust and predator tune. Was wondering what kind of horsepower estimate it may have and what kind of 1/4 mile ets it may run. Also can I run a supercharger with those cams and if not where can I get some more horsepower. Looking for 400rwhp. Looking for 12 sec. ets to be able to run at the track with my chevy friends who talk a lot of smack. I know there are some answers and secrets you modular motor guys have that can be shared amongst a new ford guy. Thanx in advance for any input

 

first get a honda 4 cylinder

then put a fart can on it, better yet cut the exhaust off of it and paint it primer gray

lastly put a supercharged sticker on it

New Edge tech thread!

 

Wow...you have a LONG way to go brother. The Edge's were just not crazy fast cars and some bolt ons can get you into the 13's...but 12's on a naturally aspirated Edge are just not realistic.

I have seen countless 4.6's run 13.8-14.2 and it looks as if the timeslp threads here (in the Edge section) verify those numbers. They are listed below.

Aiming for the middle of the pack (serious bolt-ons) you see they are at around 13.5. That is respectable...no doubt about it.

If you want to touch 12's you need to have some drag radials, LCAs, good shifting program (auto???)...and most importantly...you need to spray at least a 100 shot. Getting the S197's into the 12's is a whole lot easier as they ar running high 13's out of the box. Dropping a full second on them is not crazy expensive and IS doable.
