What do we need for our cars to be good show cars?

I hear the clean part and stuff but what are some good mods to get to make it have a good chance at car shows?

Obviously going F/I would be one but any other cheaper ones like CAI+Tune? What else?

Lots of bling or anything for that visual impact.Like a set of chrome Foose Nitrous rims, some engine dress up items like chrome or power coated valve covers. Don't put stuffed animals in your car, especially two foot tall ponies. If I see that crap in a car I deduct points,I'm mean at car shows.Whatever you do do not explain anything about your car to the judges at car shows. What you should do is see what class you should put your car in because the more changes to your car the more performance or bling parts you will need to be competitive in your class.Stock(no changes),contemprory(3 to 6 changes) and modified(no limit on upgrades).
At the end of the show always ask for your judges score sheet so you can see your weak points and make improvements for the next outing.
If I could kick *** bench racing a Rambler you can definitely do it with an s-197.This was an all original 35k mile 68 Rebel SST with one change(wheel/tires).

I have been to a lot of car shows over the years ,, The Mustang class can be tough ,, Have a good time is really the point , if you dont like the trophy shows,, stay to cruise ins ,, have something to eat , chat with the boys and go ,, No Trophys or points to worry about

I guess I've never been to any car shows, and I never figured there would be a stock class.

Perhaps some rims and a bit of engine dress-up would look nice.

Thanks for the great advice, my wife and I are joining a Mustang club in our area which attends and enters car shows. So this info was good timing.
