you don't really need that isolator, you could always shave the v6 one

Hello everyone,

1) I'm wanting to upgrade my v6 to get the GT grill and fog lights. But after speaking to a lot people and reading online, I am getting conflicting answers. So I am turning to the forum.

If I want the GT grill do I have to replace my entire front bumper or can I just order a GT grill and replace the v6 one that is already installed?
Any suggestions on where to buy upgraded parts?

Thanks for your help.
here's a couple options, a center fog replacement grill, and the factory pony grill. Both shown with the GT 500 splitter a guy in South Carolina makes;

check out americanmuscle.com or stillen.com for grilles. stillen has a ton of good looking grilles that fit the v6 so you would not have to replace the front end.

But like said earlier there are some places on ebay that sell the GT fog light grille for the v6. They have simply done the "forcing" part of the equation for you. I would go the whole 9 yards and upgrade your front bumper to one that you want and get a grille to go with it.
NEGATIVE

Dont even lead the Lord down that path...
Been there done that, wont even talk about
those days of ignorance and lost money.
The GT grill makes a good wall decoration,
not to be crammed into a V6 bumper cover....

I have a friend in Jersey who tried it. After he spent the money for the GT grill, and after trying to adapt a GT grill to the V6 fascia he had to go buy a V6 grill. 2 grills and $400 later,,,,,,

I just replaced my front end a couple weeks ago. As others have said... GT grill - v6 bumper? Don't do it, you won't be happy. If you can find some aftermarket grill to accomplish the visual goal, great! But otherwise, replace the bumper.

As for the list of needs...

-Bumper cover
-Fender liners (dealership $41 each side, make sure you buy a couple extra push-plugs,
they break easily $1 each)
-Radiator deflector (stone deflector)(dealership $32, prefered but not needed),
-Screws/fasteners for deflector
-Wire harness for fogs (if you have pony package fogs already, you can use that wire
harness, just unplug the pigtail and the clips will match, $ ??)
-Bumper isolator (styrofoam inside bumper cover, there are 2 you need the small upper
one, the gt isolator is a little taller than the v6, you can't modify it to fit, there is only
a small difference in height I reused the v6 isolator, $ ??)
-8 rivets and rivet gun to remount the running light bracket onto the new bumper cover
(I believe about a 3/16" rivet 1/4" long from your local hardware store)

As I said, I just did this a couple weeks ago, I think it took my brother and I a few hours. It really isn't that hard.

Do you happen to have part numbers for the items to get at the dealership? Im going to do this most likely next month and want to be ready. People near me at Tom's Ford are stupid as hell I was hoping to have part numbers rather then try to explain what it is I need and get the wrong thing

hey ponyboy, here are the ford part numbers...
-fender liners 5R3Z*16102*BA (right) 5R3Z*16103*BA (left)
-radiator deflector 5R3Z*17626*BA

I don't have any part numbers for the screws used to hold the radiator deflector on. I just went to the local hardware store and got some stainless steel bolts and washers.
I also don't have the part number for the isolator, you really don't need it.

Here is a link to a "how-to" for directions on removal and install from this forum. The how-to is good but a little wordy. Check it out, I read it a couple times and just went for it. I had no problems.

Thanks, as of now I purchased the GT switch and the wiring harness. I'm going to buy the front fender and gille together from takeoff.com's ebay store which is cheaper then the website. From there that's all I knew until you made that list so thanks!
