Default Grill and Ford emblem

It was suggested that I move my thread here.

Hello everyone,

1) I'm wanting to upgrade my v6 to get the GT grill and fog lights. But after speaking to a lot people and reading online, I am getting conflicting answers. So I am turning to the forum.

If I want the GT grill do I have to replace my entire front bumper or can I just order a GT grill and replace the v6 one that is already installed?
Any suggestions on where to buy upgraded parts?

2) The ford emblem on trunk of my car has a seal problem. Whenever it rains or I wash my car, the emblem fills with water ( I assume since I can't see into it). I know this because when I then open my trunk, I can step to the side and see it coming out of the top of it. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to seal that?

Thanks for your help.

1.) check out newtakeoff.com i believe you have to buy the whole bumper because the grills are different shapes, I'm not positive though.
2.) this has been discussed recently. here's a link to the thread:

I just did it recently and you def need the GT bumper, unless you want to cut your grille to size which probably won't look all that appealing. you also need the gt radiator shield front fenders, and little bumper thing behind the bumper sorry don't remember its name. And black stang is right Newtakeoff.com is an aweasome place to get the bumper and grille from. I went ahead and got the bumper from there and the rest of the parts from differant stores, and went with an elenor grille.

dw32005,
You are the first person to say anything about the radiator shield, including on this forum. What would happen if didn't get this shield?

Entire bumper cover or get an aftermarket grill that mimics the GT grill
but fits into the V6es grill opening...
The V6 grill is smaller than the GT grill and the mounting tabs are in different
locatione.

go to stealership and get the diecut 3M emblem tape.
Remove yours and replace the tape.
Reinstall better than the assembly line worker did.
Or just let it go as the stang will run you ragged trying to
fix these slight manufacturing/assembly imperfections.
Been there done that.
Done most of what you are trying to do and then some
Want suggestions?

Thanks for your help.

Its the air deflector under the GT front end that diverts
cool air up to the radiator... Its actually called a stone deflector
in the Ford parts catalogs...

GT Stone deflector
5R3Z-17626-BA

www.mustangsunlimited.com sells them

And here is a pretty decent site for getting some of that smaller stuff mentioned if you can't find it anywhere else for cheap. https://www.certifiedfordparts.com/f...ang-parts.html

i wouldn't suggest getting your deflector from mustangunlimited, you can probably pick up a deflector for around $30+tax at a dealership.
