Default Tomorrow's the first mod...

All,

Ok..not really... My first mod was getting rid of the Mustang stripes...

I'm getting my true duals with h-pipe and flowmaster 40's tomorrow. Should get it back around noon. I just wanted to thank all the folks especially NCMustangman, Badash, and flapjack for their advice. They are doing the bumper trim etc...

We'll see how it sounds... Also, on Monday I should be getting my Klasse Concourse Kit. First Polish, then 2 coats of glaze... then spray with a carnuba.. We'll see how it looks...

Now...when the CAI's get more reasonable....

Had the dual flowmaster put on with an h-pipe. Get some vibration (like everyone else) at 2K but it is pretty mild. I wasn't expecting any noticible torque diff (positive or negative) and that's what I got. It's pretty much the same as it was before.

I really like the sound of it at idle. Sounds deep but not obnoxious. It's a little high pitched when I punch it (higher RPM's) but NCMustangMan and Badash told me about this.

Based on flapjacks advice, I told them to bolt on the mufflers but they couldn't so they put clamps before the axle. However, I'm not so sure that you could get the pipe out even if you drop the hangers on the mufflers. I'm taking it back to get some more balancing done on the exhaust. I think I'm going to ask them to take off a muffler so I can see if it's possible.

They want me to drive it for 2 weeks and bring it back in to see if they should adjust the exhaust to remove any vibration I feel... Then drive it again for 2 weeks and keep adjusting till we get it right (I think that's pretty cool).

Got 2 pics but it's pretty bad quality.. I forgot to bring my camera so the manager used his cell phone.

Overall, I'm very happy. The cut in the valance is perfect. You can't notice. I was skeptical like all the other folks about having the bumper cut, but seriously, unless you get up underneath, you can't tell. And the only diff you see when you are underneath the car is that it's not beveled like the stock cut.

Total cost with tax was $425.

I would highly recommend these guys at Meineke on Long Road (For those of you in STL). They gave me a ride home after dropping off the car and a gift certificate for free appetizer at a bar and grill in the same plaza because the car wasn't ready when they thought it would be. Also, I wasn't happy with the new muffler's tailpipe so they took it off and re-welded it to shorten up it's appearance coming out of the bumper.

Just thought I'd share. And thanx again to everyone for the advice. If you have any questions you can pm me and I will be happy to answser.

I do notice the 2100rpm vibration that many have talked about as well...

Until Friday, I didn't have the H-pipe on. Since I went back and had it installed, it sounds, accellerates and just plain behaves much better. Before, I got a lot of sputtering....

I was only aware of the 800 and 1600 vibration. You have one at 2100? Did you have it before the H-pipe?

Weird but today I felt no vibration whatsoever. I didn't drive it far so I'm not sure if it's a matter of how hot the exhaust gets before the vibration sets in.

I've got a question and there seems to be some debate on this. I remember (this is the old days) that mufflers had to "season" for a month or two before you really knew what it would sound like. Typically, they would get a little quieter. My neighbor was telling me that they should get louder as they "cure".

Anyone have any experience with this? My guess is the sound diff between brand new and 3 months down the road is very minor.

Thanx in advance...
