Smile actual sizes

I didn't see anyone list the actual sizes for the rear bar bolts and nuts so here they are.

lower mounts
4 ea 8mm x 20mm bolts
4 ea 8mm flat washers
4 ea 8mm lock washers
4 ea 8mm lock nuts

upper mounts
2 ea 12mm x 70 bolts
2 ea 12mm flat washers
2 ea 12mm lock washers
2 ea 12mm lock nuts

Grade 10.9 is recommended.

I hope this helps. The Ford numbers mean little to most people when it comes to standardized hardware. This was a 10-15 minute simple install. It took longer to find the loctite than the job itself. Yes, I use loctite with metal locknuts in critical stress areas.

Grade 10.9 is way too brittle for suspension fastners....
So is grade 8.

"Determining Bolt Grade
Bolts of different grades are marked on the head to show what grade bolt they are. For a list of the most common grade markings see our Material Grade Identification and Properties Chart.

Grade 2
Grade 2 is a standard hardware grade steel. This is the most common grade of steel fastener and is the least expensive. Grade 2 bolts have no head marking (sometimes a manufacturer mark is present).

Grade 5
Grade 5 bolts are hardened to increase strength and are the most common bolts found in automotive applications. Grade 5 bolts have 3 evenly spaced radial lines on the head.

Grade 8
Grade 8 bolts have been hardened more than grade 5 bolts. Thus they are stronger and are used in demanding applications such as automotive suspensions. Grade 8 bolts have 6 evenly spaced radial lines on the head."

Just ask someone whom mounted their winch
with grade 8s and see how that worked out
for them when it was needed the most....
