Default ok first engine mods for 09

So from what I gather. People here suggest that a good tunner from one of the dealers on here like Bama or Brendaspeed. Also a CAI and cat back exhaust. Some on here recomend to others UD pullies was wondering how much they really help? I was also looking at a BBK TB and either a ZEX or NX 100shot kit for the car. Any thoughts guys lets here them.
Thanks
Jeff

The CAI/tune from a tuner like bama or brenspeed and some exhaust is a good start. The underdrive pullies are just going to free up a little power that is robbed by things like AC. A little is better than nothing, but they don't give you much. The common thought around here is that while a good mod they just aren't really worth the money. HP per $$ isn't much. Now if you are going for a track car, every little bit helps. The TB is another one of those mods, while a nice mod, isn't worth the money. Unless you do FI or spray.

Those are my thoughts, see what others say.

Thanks I think I need to step back and rethink my game plan. I been told the mods I was gonna make are wrong as far as suspension so need to rethink and refigure. I was going off the stuff I learned from my 5.0 days seams the engine mods I want are spot on though. gonna see what I can do I got 1500 coming back from ford for buying this car. Iam gonna put most of that into mods for the car. thanks

a tuner; yes. It will give you a boost in hp and trq although they will require premium fuel. The CAI is questionable. Some tuners say the get the exact same hp increses with a tuner with the stock airbox, although all the CAI sellers advertise huge hp gains. A catback will maybe give you a few added ponies although not as much as you'd think. My guess is around 5 more hp. A 100 shot is right on the line of being safe and unsafe with stock internals. A 75 shot is probably a better bet. UD pulleys will free up a few ponies also, but not many, 3-5 is my guess-timate.

I'd go with a good tune, a good stock box airfilter, like a K&N, a nice sounding catback muffler and a 75 shot of Nos. Those should give you a 15-25 hp increase before you hit the Nos button. Then you can work on the suspension a little to take advantage of that added power. A little more grunt, and better suspension will certainly make your car faster around a track and alot more fun to drive on the street.

the only things really that are worth it from a gt500 is the sways, strut mounts and strut tower brace. maybe a small other amount of parts. aftermarket will be a better route. also determine what difference in the suspension you want before buying alot of parts.

I just want less body roll. I found a guy local with take off sway bars I can see before buying for less money gonna go that route plus he has the GT500 mufflers for 35 a piece witch has me looking at dual cat back exhaust and C&L CAI with XCAL3 tunner from evo. think those mods will eat up all my cash flow for now.
