I'm a fan of white lithium grease in the aerosol can. Works great for squeaks and unfreezing door locks on 98 Dodge Rams.

I don't like the white lithium grease cause eventually it dries and becomes a pasty mess. I have tried in and don't like the eventual caked on crud it becomes. At least WD40 washes away. The lithium you have to get a rag and wipe it off.

Unfortunately on front wheel squeaks I have never had much luck tracking them down either. On my old Accord I had to live with a squeak that I could never find or get rid of with lubrication.
