Just Pre-Ordered the 'last' X-Charger X-treme

As one of the X-Charger "old timers" (s/n 004...) I remember the long months waiting as Dave designed, tweaked and tested the original kits before they were finally unleashed. The development of the intercooled setup went a similar path with many months of anxious and eager waiting for many of us, but the wait is nearly over, and just in time to get cars prepped for springtime.
Damn Top, I could only imagine how your Pony will look in the next year
I only say that cause I remember you posting about your Roush spoiler install a few months ago.
One of my DREAMS is to have a supercharger or turbocharger in my six. Whenever I see or hear of someone getting one for there six, I can't help but smile.
Congrats on the purchase! And remember, you only live once. Don't let that 'buyer's remorse' **** with you

Congrats on your X-treme
I get the buyer's remorse thing too. I have to tell myself that I work hard, I save my money, I don't waste it on lots of luxuries, and that I deserve something nice for myself one in a while.
You don't really have to get a bunch of other stuff to go with your X-treme. Driveshaft is nice, but it's not like you're going to break your stock one. The 2005 Mustangs had the driveshafts with the staked u-joints, but if you have the c-clipped ones, you're ok.
Dual exhaust will help your setup breathe better, but it's not like you're going to kill your HP without one.
Headers are nice, but you don't get much performance for the money. I only got a set because they were super cheap on a clearance.
Rear lower control arms would be nice for controlling wheel hop, but not necessary unless you're flooring it from a standstill all the time.
If you upgrade your throttle body, check out the Zabtek. They flow like 800 cfm. The stock one flows almost 700 cfm. Some people had problems with the BBK. But really, people are running 800cfm carbs on 427 stroker small blocks. How much throttle body do you need?
If I was on a budget, and not going to the strip all the time, I'd get a dual exhaust and call it good.

I'll look into the Zabtek TB especially since you said the BBK has issues. Should I just get a TB spacer instead of a TB since the stock one flows so well? I was thinking about the Steeda one to help with MPGs as well as better air flow.
As far as exhaust setups go I wanted to add dual exhaust consisting of BBK Shorty Headers, a Prochamber & Boomtubes. I was thinking this would free up more ponies and give me a much deeper note than my single GT Takeoff.
My suspension work up will come in due time. I wanted to get it done this summer, but with the unexpected cost of the X-CX I doubt I'll be able to. I still have to pick up a set of staggered 20s & a GT500 conversion kit. This habit is soooo expensive....but well worth it. I can't wait to make my first trip to the track this year!!
I got my pre-order in about two weeks ago. I've been fighting the remorse bug too. But as they've already said, after you install it yourself, and punch the pedal I think we'll leave that gremlin in the burnt pony rubber!
As far as extra supporting mods to the X, I'm sticking with single exhaust for a while. I'd like to get Boost, A/F ratio, and an Interceptor gauge next, but even those will wait for a few months after I install the X-Xtreem.
For many of us the Xcharger is the single biggest ($$$ & HP) improvement we'll do to our cars. Enjoy the heck out of it, and add the other things as you can. That's my plan anyway. Good luck to all of us on our upcoming installs!!

I ordered the whole kit. One thing on the gauges; from what I've read on the forums, if your going with F/I you should have a Wideband Air Fuel gauge. I've been looking at the Autometer 6178

It's around $300. It comes with everything you need including the sensor. You will need to tap a hole in the exhaust to mount the sensor. This will let you know if your engine's mix is proper, and will give you a heads up before you wreck the engine is something goes wrong.
The Interceptors monitor a lot, but don't do Air/Fuel out of the box. They need an additional sensor to read A/F ratio.

It's another $180, but is a complete package, and plugs into the Interceptor's AUX sensor inputs.
Just wanted to give you a heads up on what I've researched about F/I gauges. Maybe save you a Search
Again I'm planning to run without them for a few months, but defiantly will do A/F first.

He say how long till the second batch?
Guess my spring mod list will be
susp(prob gt takeoff shocks/struts/front&rear sway bars/roush rear springs
boost gauge, digi sped in roush gauge pods
90mm idler pulleys(prob the goodyear ones)
and get my car tuned for the LT's

Topless - I have the Roush gauge pods in the center vents (wideband AFR and boost) and it really looks great. Last time I had in the Ford garage the service manager wanted to know where I got it because it looks factory. The center vents are in a good location as well for taking a quick look at them.
As I recall TorchVert has them as well.

Congrats on your new purchase!!!
I agree with the opinion on the DS, but one note of correction. The early 2006 V6 S197's also had the staked u-joints (my old '06 PP-coupe did). Since the OP has an '06, he should confirm that his u-joints have the c-clips.

Is there any way I can check while it's still on the car?
I got mine in a swap for my stock exhaust manifold from a guy who is doing a turbo kit
for LT's I'd go w/ the stainless steel works ones or the mac ones w/ a prochamber
Just know if you do shorty headers they're a looks only mod, no perf gain
