Default Clutch Pedal Travel

The clutch went out last week and I got the stang out of service this afternoon. I noticed the pedal travel seems longer than what I was used to. It seems like the clutch engages in the last inch before the pedal bottoms out. I stalled it a few times on the way home. The replacement clutch was OEM.

Is this normal? Is this small travel desired by racers or something? Can the travel be adjusted?

Thanks for any info.

You may have some air in the system. Jack the left front corner good and high off the ground then slowly pump the clutch pedal all the way to the floor and back for 10-15 minutes to bleed all the air out of the system.

Park with the front end up at a 45 degree angle.
Push and release the clutch 6-7 times SLOWLY
to bleed the system.
I would expect the old set-up had air in it and the
new properly bled system is just right, thats all....
