Default TPMS Sensor Question

hey i have a 2007 v6 pony that came with 17" aluminum wheels and the TPMS sensors on them.. Just recently i bought a set of 19" GT Take Offs from a 2011 GT Mustang. THey have TPMS sensors in them but now my computer is saying theres a sensor fault. So is there any way to reprogram to read the sensors inside the new wheels, or do i need to take the sensors from my old wheels and get them put in the new ones?. And if i have to do that, is the band that holds the sensor to the wheels expandable? or am i gonna have to buy new bands for the bigger wheel size

all you have to do is go to your local Ford dealer, or a local tire/wheel store, and pay them to reprogram the new sensors to your car. It takes less than 2 minutes.

2007 and 2011 TPMS system, sensors are different.....

Did they put the band style in the 2011 rims you bought?
The OEM bands are non-reusable and will need to be CUT off...
Read up on it so if they do remount them in the new wheels that
they do it right. There are horror stories about weird noises
\coming from wheels just to have it be a TPMS sensor that came loose
from improper remounting of it.

Talking Wheel TPMS Sensors

American Muscle has the sensor-setting tool (about $35) as well as replacement bands and sensors, all for relatively little cost (compared to Ford prices).

I bought the tool when I changed from one set of wheels to another Ford set. Took 1 minute to reprogram.

Not rocket science (luckily).......

Different Sensor system. You need to get the band style sensors in place of the valve stem type for your 2007.

You could just seal them up in a PVC tube and use a schrader valve to
air the container up to the required PSI and toss it in the trunk.
No bands needed. That could cut down on the costs.
Be sure they use 3M tape under the TPMS cradles like OEM or
they have a tendency to come loose with the aftermarket
super big hose clamp style bands.
