Default just a question

further to my question yesterday, i will make it more clear and concise, under the hood in the engine bay, on both my '05 v6 and my '06 gt there is a plunger switch mounted to the inner fender on the passenger side of the vehicle, what is this for?

Tim - that is part of the alarm system. If someone lifts the hood while the alarm is armed that plunger comes up and trips the alarm.

I didn't see his other post that he references so had to check his statistics now!

I wondered the same thing one time when I was doing some work on the car and noticed the "plunger" - and the fact that my friend's car next to me didn't have one. Then I realized that I have the factory alarm system and he didn't have it on his car.
