Default ebay strut brace V6.....NOT

Strut Tower Brace on eBay

Says it fits 05 V6, I called to confirm and they said it did. Bought one, it arrive today....doesn't fit...not even close. Not enough arch to the bar over the platic manifold cover. If you bolt it down on one side, the other side is unable to set down in place due to the the bar resting on the plactic manifold cover. I'll report back in Monday if I have any problems wtih them paying for shipping back and doing full refund.

Thats not good news! I have one coming from the same guy! I had emailed him a head of time to make sure it did in fact fit a V6 and he said it did. I guess I will see when it shows up.

The one they show in the auction pic looks like it just barely clears the V8. No way that particular one is going to clear the V6.... I really wonder if they even tried one on a 6, or just assumed "The V6 has the same strut towers....of course it'll fit..."

The quest continues it seems...

From what I've read, there isn't a strut tower brace available for the V6 yet because of the height of the intake.

I've read a few companies are in development stages for braces that go behine the intake, but am not aware of any in produciton yet.

Now on his ebay add he says for the V8 only and for anyone getting one from him for a V6 to contact him for a full refund. Bummer!

Ron called me today and told me to send it back and he will credit my intial purchase price as well as return shipping. Was just a mistake on his part, he thought it fit the V6.

I don't think going behind would be best. The bar would have to be severely curved/bent, and sacrifice stiffness (which is the whole point).
In looking at it, it looks to me like a bar could be run just forward of the tallest part on the manifold, with only a very mild bend to it.

i.e. Something like this:

It looks like this guy is selling one and from the picture it looks like its for a V6. A little pricey for me but he made it work.

That is one very pretty looking piece. The carbon fiber strut and billet ends drive the price up. If these guys can do it in more upscale materials, surely someone can do a similar design in good ol' steel.....

Good find
