HEMI 1500 VS 4.0 stang 1/4 mile.
I work with a guy that has been ragging me constantly about how he can eat my car up with his 2008 HEMI 1500 Dodge quad cab, (its all stock) I have seen him run it, it got nice acceleration but very poor traction. I have my 2007 (stock) 4.0 Mustang, The drags are open tonight so we can run them. So realistically do I stand a chance? I think the HEMI is a little faster in the 1/4.
Im not going to let someone keep talking smack, ill run against him. I just hope its a close race.

Here is some info I found on it.
When optimally configured, the new Ram can sprint to 60 MPH in a mere 7 seconds. Snappy for a full-size truck, wouldn't you say?

If you just feel you must proove somethng to this guy than tell him that if he really thinks his pickup truck is so much better than your Mustang form a performance driving perspective than he should have no problem slalom racing you should he? Find a slalom or road racing course somewhere and ask him to line that tug boat up then. You can make anything fast in a straight line. Let's see how that giant POS does on some corners. The real world of driving isn't all straight lines for a 1/4 mile eveywhere you go. And finally, it's a 2008 Dodge so at best he's got anywhere between 6 months and a year before the thing starts falling apart on him. Crappy Dodge products.
PS, just for the record, I do not condone or encourage you to street race this clown. That is why I suggested a road course. No amount of anyones pride is worth risking lives in a street race just so you can proove to this knucklehead that his Dodge pickup really isn't a sports car. If he wanted a sports car, he should have bought one.

I personally want to take them to Diboll Raceway and actually have the times on paper, but there is a place where some anonomous person marked 1/4 mile onto the highway. We get off work at 3:30am, so if we go that route it will be after work (and with prob half the small night shift we work on watching)
Today got rough, most peoples opinion at work are on the HEMI, but I aint skeered, Ill run against anyone, Id like to get an idea of what my stock car runs before I start modding it. Hopefully in a little over a year I will introduce F/I into the mix. Only have access to $3600 now so I have to wait a while.

This should really be in the Street/Strip section. But anyway....

Looks like 15sec in the 1/4. That 0-60 in 7 seconds is when it is "optimally configured" and with a professional driver.
It would be a close race, but if you are bone stock, I would bet on the hemi.

You guys are both a couple of stupid losers if this thing gets settled in a street race. This is how innocent people get hurt. Couple of idiots drag racing on a public highway to prove what? Bragging right? That your V6 Mustang is quicker than some stupid pickup? Put it on a race track or don't do it. That's where I come out on it anyway.
