Other ways to increase HP
Why? I think the kid has a legit deal right now. OP, just get the street 87 and that alone will be an amazing difference. The entire car just feels like it woke up, and throttle response gets MUCH (in comparison to stock) better.
You won't be disappointed by the tune I can assure you of that. Once you do start to pay for your own stuff (in due time, no need to rush things lol) then you can get a solid 89 or so performance tune and really eek out the performance.
Some other popular mods are gears (3.73 or 4.10 are the norm), 1 piece driveshaft (for those high speed jaunts), and some even go forced induction but that's pretty costly.
Stick with the tune/CAI, and gears and you'll have a mean machine for a (relatively) small chunk of change.

It is the repsonsible thing to do, but what would you do if someone offered you free gas?
Say, "No sir, I'm gonna pay through the roof as prices keep rising."?
I understand what your saying, I'm in pretty much the same situation, just make a little bit more. But in the world we live in, take advantage of anything possible.
haha

The difference between the 87 custom tune Vs the 93 custom tune is estimated (7 - 10) more HP. Once you upload the 87 custom tune, you will feel a huge difference in performance, compared to stock!
