Default Tuner Help/Advice/Problems

Ok, I know the Mustang FAQ says to read it before asking about tuners, but I need actual solid proof that the car's computer, once returned to stock, only shows as being reset. Not for me, but for my mother who doesn't want me to void the warranty on my car.

Thanks!

Sounds like you should respect Mom's wishes and not tune the car.

+1 don't tune it if she's that worried about it.

That being said:

It cracks me up when people want to mod a car but then take them off to go to a dealership. Unless you blow your motor from a really crappy tune, it WILL NOT VOID THE WARRANTY.

The aftermarket parts you put on the car will void factory warranty of the parts you just replaced with them. Why? Because a something like a C&L Intake is not made by Ford, it's made by C&L so of course Ford won't warranty the air intake.

If your power steering pump goes out it would have NOTHING to do with your intake and tune, etc.

Read up.

Tuning won't void the warranty, providing you don't get a hosed tune that can damage the car. Bama, Brenspeed, Tillman and a few others have an excellent track record. Over 75% of the forum members are running non-stock tunes and in my 4 years on the forum, nobody has mentioned tune-related engine damage.

And many of us have taken our cars in for warranty work with the CAI and custom tunes with no hassles from the dealerships. Only wusses allow themselves to be intimidated by the dealerships ILLEGAL attempts at claiming voided warranties.

Yet again, I'm not the one in fear, I know what I'm getting into.

If your mom is really worried, don't do it.

If something was to go wrong, and it is determined to be the tune, your shafted
